DQ Heating

One key thing that sets us apart from other distributors in the UK is our state-of-the-art in-house powder coating plant. While many companies rely on third-party coating services, we’ve made the investment to bring this under our own roof, allowing us to have control over the quality, speed, and flexibility of our finishes. This gives us a distinct advantage in delivering products that not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers.

Colour and diversity within our ranges has always played a big part of the identity of DQ. We know that in a heavily saturated market, it takes an extra effort to stand out from the crowd. Having our own finishing facilities, means that we can offer more colours that are unique to us. We can also offer colour matching services for customers looking to match popular brand names in their homes like; Farrow and Ball, Little Greene and Paper and Library.

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a modern technique for applying a smooth and durable finish to a wide range of products. Unlike traditional liquid paint, powder coating is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. This powder is charged electrostatically and then baked, a process that fuses the particles to the surface of the product. The result is a much tougher and more resilient finish.

This method provides superior protection against wear and tear, making it a fantastic choice for products that need to withstand heavy use, outdoor exposure, or varying weather conditions. The thermal bonding process involved in curing ensures that the finish is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading. Additionally, powder coating is more environmentally friendly since it doesn’t release harmful solvents into the atmosphere, and the powder itself is non-toxic.

How Does This Benefit Our Products?

The process allows for our products to perform adequately due to the constant temperature changes and possible damage from everyday living. It also provides superior colour retention! The powder itself is non-toxic, making it kinder to the environment than wet paint.

Additionally, with our plant being located on the same premises as despatch, we have significantly reduced the risk of damage.

Which Products are Powder Coated?

On our website, we make it easy to identify which of our products are available in powder-coated finishes. Simply look for the RAL/Finishes symbol listed in the “finishes” section on the product page. This will tell you which products can be custom coated in a variety of colours to suit your needs.

If you’re looking for further inspiration or would like to explore the full range of finishes we offer, we’ve made it easy to browse through them on our website. Whether you’re after a classic matte finish or something more vibrant, there’s something for every project. You can view the collection here.

In conclusion, our in-house powder coating plant isn’t just a facility—it’s an essential part of what allows us to offer high-quality, unique products to our customers. By keeping the entire coating process in-house, we can ensure better control, faster delivery, and a product that will stand the test of time. With a vast range of colours and finishes to choose from, we’re confident that we can help you create a look that perfectly fits your style and needs.
