Giving radiators the recognition they deserve

On 1 November, we’re celebrating National Radiator Day — an opportunity to appreciate one of the hardest-working features in our homes.

We rely on our radiators to keep us comfortable through colder mornings, dark winter evenings and everything in between. Yet, despite being an essential part of everyday life, they don’t always get the recognition they deserve.

At DQ Heating, we believe a radiator should do more than provide warmth. It can complement an interior, enhance a room and become a design feature in its own right.

Warmth meets design

Radiators have come a long way. Today, there’s a huge choice of styles, shapes, colours and finishes to suit different spaces and tastes.

From timeless traditional designs and characterful cast iron collections to contemporary radiators and statement towel rails, heating can be an integral part of your interior design rather than something to hide away.

Whether you’re renovating a period property, refreshing a bathroom or creating a modern living space, choosing the right radiator can make a real difference to the finished room.

Quality matters, too

Of course, a radiator needs to do more than look good. Choosing the right product for a space means considering its required heat output, the room’s heat loss and the heating system it will be working with.

Accurate heat-output information and appropriate product testing are important when selecting a radiator. The right advice and specification help ensure that the product is suitable for the room and delivers the performance expected of it.

Proud to be part of MARC

As a member of MARC — the Manufacturers’ Association of Radiators and Convectors — DQ Heating supports the wider industry’s work to promote product quality, compliance and confidence in radiator performance.

MARC works to give the radiator and convector industry a collective voice, championing good practice and helping raise awareness of the importance of properly tested and correctly specified products.

National Radiator Day is a great reminder that radiators aren’t simply another item on the home improvement list. They’re an essential part of our homes, deserving of careful consideration when it comes to both design and performance.
